His finger trailed lazily down her neck making simple, slow circles that sizzled first, then tingled. But then swirled back up and under the curve of her jaw, lingering there but destined for the delicate maze of her ear.
Almost gracefully, that finger trailed downward caressing the tender flesh there and meandering again around the delicate curve of her jaw.
She shivered, feeling that slick silver shot of adrenaline move through her body and with it the need began its climb upward to her brain.
Continuing its travels his nails breached the maze of her ear and traced the skin there exacting some small insanity that joined that silver adrenaline “drug” in her body and made the warm spread lower.
Her moan was low and enduring for only a moment as he turned her toward him.

And so this is scene we turn over in our minds as we pick lingerie. What do you want to do with it? Is lounging about on your own the immediate goal? Then you’ve got the “lip-lovers”…. Wow… what a variety of enhancements on the open market to get some attention here. Even Walmart has a blistering array of lip gloss, plump and sparkle. Just go do it and reap the rewards.

The best seduction scenes are written in our contemporary romance writer’s books. Nora Roberts sex scenes sizzle, read a few of her books and see if you wouldn’t want to be treated the way some of those heroines get treated…. Cheez. It never hurts to take hints from the professionals and if the books turn you on, set the scenes you’d like to live, if possible or failing that, read a few hot scenes with your guy and see what happens.

Being provocative is an art. Some learn it young and yet some of the most sexy women in their 60’s and 70’s are masters at the art of seductiveness. (Yep, many of them had plenty of staged movie experience, but they learned from the best.) Those of us that are in their older years don’t have to look at themselves as sexless beings that have just done their best to raise their kids…. These ladies have the knowledge too. Birth Of A Bra

It never ceases to amaze me how the minds of men and women alike see to inflict pain and torture upon themselves in the name of fashion. Ouch, it hurts just thinking about it.

The corsets of the late 19th century purportedly cause cracked ribs, asthma, indigestion and variety of other ailments. But our waists were hourglass, nothing else was more important.

I take my hat off to Mary Phelps Jacobs who is credited with the first patent for a bra back in 1913. Here was a pragmatic socialite who had to come up with an alternative to the whale bone corset she would have been forced to wear under a shear new evening gown.

Whether the whale bones poking out around her plunging neckline convinced her to look in another direction or having cracked a rib or two in the past was the catalyst, Mary pitched the corset and selected two silk hankies and some pink ribbon to get her through the night without looking hog-tied. It worked and the first patented bra came into existence. Amazing what a little pain will do for you.

Now in 2007, we can satisfy the need for improvement of our “look” by browsing our favorite nice and naughty sites. They’re out there in abundance…. Everything from fishnet tights and teddies to bustiers (no whale bone here… but you can reduce that waistline with one). My favorite now is a camisole and loose knickers… easy in, easy out and they look great.

I think the corsets now, while tight fitting, don’t cause rib cage damage as they did way back when. Thank God for that. At least we’ve found a place in time when looking vampy and sexy isn’t going to send you to the nearest emergency room. We’ve moved forward. I think there should be a major celebration in remembrance of Mary Phelps Jacobs and the first bra patent in 1913. I wonder if those hankies had wire under cups?

A Look into the History of Lingerie

A brief history of Lingerie
1907: American Vogue illustrated a rigid, boned brassiere with no division between the breasts. Believe it or not, it was actually worn over the corset .
1913: Mary Phelps devised the first modern bra with two lacy hankerchiefs and some help from her maid. The following year she sold the patent to a Mr Warner whom she had met at a garden party. That discussion would have been interesting.
1918: Corset-makers were running up bras designed to flatten rather than enhance. This did not last too long. You see, they were ignoring the fact that curves are much more alluring than flatness.
1925: Bras first had divisions between the breasts and adjustable straps. Thus, the first bra was introduced.
1938: Finally acknowledging that breasts did not come in standard sizes, bra-makers introduced A,B, C and D cups. Men everywhere rejoiced.
1940: Padding was first sneaked into bra cups. It was a deceptive and manipulative move. To this day, not one male has complained.
1950s: Strapless bras appeared and women were now able to wear an off-the-shoulder dress and still use a bra.
1959: Warners and Du Pont produced Lycra which we have continued to use ever since then. As a result, the many varied fashions and designs of lingerie have continued to expand.
1965: The no-bra bra was introduced to give support with a nothing-under effect. Half-hearted women’s libbers rejoiced. Males unconsciously decided to let women’s libbers enjoy themselves while they continued to enjoy women who looked good in a nice set of sexy lingerie.
1973: The first no-bounce sports bra was introduced. Males ignored this change. So what!
1980s: Frederick’s of Hollywood and Victoria’s Secrets become national icons. Men find themselves ordering lingerie from catelogs and going into mall stores to purchase female lingerie with total abandon.
1990s: The Internet is filled with sites that feature lingerie catalogs and user friendly steps to order some of the most risque’ lingerie available anywhere.

Evidently sometime around 1889 a certain Madame Cudelle did the unthinkable. She apparently cut out the midriff of her corset to allow more movement from the waist. And voila! We had the brassiere. (The idea behind the corset as the
primary undergarment was to lessen a women’s attributes. A practice still prevalent in certain cultures to this day but that’s another story…)

Since then it has not been possible to contain the primary, most visible and most appreciated part of the female anatomy. The breasts. Odes have been dedicated to these twin towers of pleasure. Men have lost themselves in expressing how they feel about a woman’s breasts. Was it not the great poet eecummings who said :”between the breasts of bestial Marj lie large men”?
But more importantly lingerie and the breast go together like a hand and glove, fish and water, sun and sky, love and romance. What is it about a woman dressed in sexy lingerie that gets a man’s pulse racing. What promise of untold pleasure lurks beneath those skimpy sexy garments?
